Bob Hughes has passed away after an 18 month battle with cancer, aged 67.

His partner Emily posted this message on her facebook page:

My heart aches but I am so glad for the gift of 12 years with this marvellous man. Kind and curious, thoughtful and enthusiastic. He was my Dalai Farmer.

The most romantic man I ever knew. He never stopped courting me.

Those who knew him are invited to raise a glass in his honour at the Friend in Hand (58 Cowper St, Glebe) at 3pm, Sunday 19th January.

She was delightful and always lit up the room...

Radio presenter Sammy Power has died aged 55.

Sammy studied at AFTRS and began her career on air with a brief stint in regional radio, before getting her break in Sydney hosting breakfast on Mix 106.5 (now KIIS).

She was teamed with Jason Bouman with good ratings success in the early 2000s.

She left Mix in a format reshuffle, then worked at Wave FM Wollongong.

Former ABC Producer Peter McCormack passed away yesterday after a long illness.

Born in Victoria, Peter began his media career producing Mike Walsh's tv show, then joined the ABC for a short stint in Melbourne, before leaving media to be a road manager for musician Earl Grant.

Vale musician Martin Armiger

Australian musician and composer Martin Armiger has passed away.

Martin was lead guitarist of band The Sports in the 1970s, which had the hit single Who LIstens to the Radio, and many other rocks hits between 1976 and 1981.

He wrote music for radio and television, and was a well known screen music composer.

Former ABC broadcaster Bruce Webster has passed away at the age of 92.

Bruce Webster was born on 13 August 1927, the son of Sidney Howard and Helena Shirley Webster.  In 1952 he married his wife Pat and they had three children.

He joined the ABC in 1947 after the second world war as a messenger boy. He moved into an announcing role two years later in 1949.

Bruce Rogerson passed away last weekend. With his funeral on this morning, Ian Holland has paid tribute to a man who was an inspirational leader in the Australian radio industry.

Vice President and presenter at Hawkesbury Radio, Gavin Casburn, passed away on Sunday 3rd February following complications from surgery for a septic ulcer.

His funeral will be held next Monday (details below).

A member of the station for over 30 years, Gavin had also been a long-term member of the management team, with a wide participation as a presenter, Technical Director, and eventually as Treasurer and Vice President.
