Ad Agencies turn to podcasts to boost brand awareness

Agencies turn to podcast advertising to help build brand awareness, according to IAB Audio Advertising State of the Nation Report 2020.
 
Advertising across digital audio platforms is maturing, with 90% of media buyers placing ads in streaming services and 75% now embracing podcasts (up from 63% in 2018) according to the IAB’s Audio Advertising State of the Nation Report released at the IAB Australia Audio Summit.

CRA's Joan Warner has told radioinfo that comments attributed to her in a Mumbrella article today were taken out of context.

Reporting a new initiative by the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) to form a Digital Audio Council for measuring streaming music services such as Pandora, Rdio, Spotify, iHeartRadio and others, Mumbrella referenced comments by Warner, giving the impression there was a current conflict between CRA and IAB.

Streaming music company Rdio has launched it's latest redesign.

The company will now use intelligence gathered from it's users to select radio stations to play including music preference and past listening habits.

Rdio also launched a free version of its service in 20 countries in an effort to reach a wider audience and outgun rivals Spotify and Deezer.
