This International Nurses Day, Grant Broadcasters radio stations across Queensland have said a big ‘Thank You’ to the frontline workers who have been risking their lives to keep the country safe throughout the Covid19 Crisis.
Celebrated annually on the 12thMay, International Nurses Day is a day to recognise the contribution nurses make to society, which in the current climate couldn’t feel more important.

Triple M still tops in Townsville, but Hit is on the rise

Triple M Townsville, despite easing across all demographics, still leads as the station listened to most, and along with stablemate Hit103.1 Townsville, the pair dominate in the latest Xtra Insights Survey.
Hit103.1 was the biggest improver, up 2.8 to 20.3, just behind Triple M (down 2.0 to 21.7) but still well in front of Star 106.3 (up 1.5 to 14.6) and Power100 (up 1.9 to 11.8)

Heidi Latcham is joining 919 Sea FM

Heidi Latcham is back in her home town of the Sunshine Coast and is joining 919 Sea FM to be BarRat’s new partner on ‘BarRat & Heidi for Breakfast’.
Heidi has extensive experience on both radio and TV, including a recent stint at Star 1063FM and says “I’m so happy to be home on the Sunshine Coast, I am still a “Buderim Mountain State School Old Girl” at heart! I get to do my dream job in my dream town! I plan on having sand in my hair every day.”

Radio stations unite to help Cyclone Debbie victims

Radio gets truckin' for cyclone victims

The Townsville arm of Grant Broadcasters, Star 1063 and Power100 are working together providing assistance to those residents of Bowen, Proserpine and Airlie Beach affected by Severe Tropical Cyclone Debbie.

The stations are calling upon the Townsville and surrounding communities to dig deep into their own cupboards and supplies and donate as much nonperishable food, bottles of water and personal hygiene products in an attempt to ease the effects of Tropical Cyclone Debbie.

Star 106.3's 500 Grand on the Strand

It's the once in a lifetime opportunity that has captured the imagination of Townsville as they wonder just how vastly their life would change if they were $500,000 richer.

This morning, Josh from Bushland Beach was selected as the lucky finalist to dig on Strand Beach Townsville for a shot at $500,000.

Unfortunately, Josh didn't choose the lucky plot, but his dig did uncover $5000; enough he says for a family holiday in Bali. The mystery $500,000 plot was later revealed as number 55.

Australian Survivor’s Barry joins Star 106.3

He may have been voted off the island on Australian Survivor, but the lovable larrikin with the big heart, Barry Lea, has found himself a new home at Star 106.3.
Townsville can kick off their workday with Barry when he starts as Star 106.3’s Morning announcer, weekdays from 9am in October.
Barry, who entered Australian Survivor to be a role model to other Indigenous people was controversial in his decision to play the game strategy-free.
