SCA announces new head of radio sales Sydney

Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) has announced Carla Vella will return to the business as Head of Radio Sales, Sydney, effective Monday 10th August 2015.

Ms Vella will focus on driving the sales strategy across the entire Sydney radio portfolio and delivering integrated sales solutions across all SCA assets.

After a short time with Network Ten, Ms Vella returns to take on a more senior role where she will continue to provide commercial insights, innovative solutions and integrated ideation.

ACMA imposes penalties on SCA for Royal Prank

After months of negotiation, the ACMA has finally arrived at an agreed range of penalties and undertakings to be imposed on Southern Cross Austereo for the so called Royal Prank affair.

A new style cricket show for Australia

Authentic Entertainment and Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) have announced the launch of a new style cricket radio show for the Ashes and One Day International cricket series.

Willow Talk, hosted by Australian Cricket legends Matthew Hayden, Mark Waugh and fellow UK larrikin master-spinner Graeme Swann, will entertain audiences in Australia over the Ashes and ODI period.

The show will run on 52 radio stations nationally across SCA’s Triple M and Local Works networks.

Shazam introduces visual recognition capabilities

Best known for its music identification capabilities, Shazam is going visual.

The new functionality extends the company’s mobile engagement platform creating a world where everything from posters, to packaged goods, to print media, and more are transformed from static images into pieces of content.

Speaking to radioinfo, Steve Sos, Vice President of Shazam in Asia Pacific says it is a logical move to expand visually.

The former TEN Network CEO has a career in media spanning thirty years and is currently CEO of the national restaurant group, The Keystone Group and Founder and CEO of Four Seasons Media, a diversified media consultancy, content owner, investor and management group. Mr Blackley also has a financial interest in RGM Artists, Australia’s leading talent agency.
