With fifty staff to lose their jobs from a number of departments including news, few imagined the man who holds the record for the most number of ACRAs would be among the casualties.

Brian White award winner takes up international fellowship exchange

Multi-award winning radio news journalist Glenn Daniel, recipient of the Brian White Award at the 2014 Australian Commercial Radio Awards, will take up a fellowship exchange this week at Mediacorp, Singapore’s largest broadcaster.
Daniel, currently on air at Smoothfm in Sydney, is a respected industry veteran with a pedigree of more than 30 years in commercial radio across WSFM, 2SM, 2DayFM and Triple M.

smoothfm and Sony Music Entertainment Australia have released their latest compilation album, smoothfm Presents – Music For Mum 2015.

In the lead up to Mother’s Day, Sony and smoothfm have compiled an album that features songs that mums will love. The two CD compilation album features some of the biggest and most popular songs from smoothfm’s playlist including Chicago’s Hard to Say I’m Sorry, Whitney Houston’s Where Do Broken Hearts Go, Christina Aguilera’s Beautiful and Ben E. King’s Stand By Me.

Leo Sayer joins the Smooth FM lineup

Grammy award winner Leo Sayer has been added to the all-star smoothfm weekend lineup, fronting his own show from this Saturday, 28 February at 4pm.

Responsible for some of the biggest hits of the 70s and 80s including You Make Me Feel Like Dancing and When I Need You, Sayer will handpick some of his favourite tracks along with a story or two for smoothfm listeners; the perfect addition to a relaxing Saturday afternoon.

Tens of thousands sample smooth chocolate festival

Sydney's Rocks area was packed with people sampling chocolates and desserts this weekend at smooth fm's Festival of Chocolate.

Nova Entertainment extended the smooth brand into an "experiential platform" as part of the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Month.

The free festival showcased Sydney’s best chocolatiers, dessert proprietors, and commercial residents of The Rocks to celebrate all things delicious.

NOVA Entertainment is set to take smoothfm out of the broadcast studio and into The Rocks when the smooth Festival of Chocolate makes its debut next month.

Extending the brand onto an experiential platform, the festival is sponsored by the second series of Network Ten’s Recipe to Riches, held in conjunction with Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority and part of Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Month presented by Citi.

Melissa Doyle will be heard in smooth fm Drive for two weeks from Monday 30 June.

Doyle joined smoothfm in October last year to host her own weekend breakfast shows, and now will be heard during weekdays as well.

One of the most popular and trusted faces on Australian television, Mel Doyle earned a loyal following as co-host of Seven’s Sunrise for 14 years, and is now a news presenter and journalist with Seven Australia.
