Ray Hadley's Siege Mentality

Friday 19 December, 2014

Comment from Peter Saxon

No one hopes for tragedy to occur. But when it does, those whose job it is to deal with it come in to their own. From the police and the firies, to the paramedics and the media, Monday’s siege is the kind emergency for which they are ultimately trained for to bring all their skills to bear and to perform at their best. Thankfully, such incidents are rare, but Monday was not a drill.

Hadley talks to hostage off air

Monday 15 December, 2014

It has now emerged that 2GB’s Ray Hadley has spoken to one of the hostages off air.

Apparently under instruction from the gunman, the hostage asked to be put live to air. Hadley declined to do that saying that he was not a trained negotiator.

Hadley was then told to call the hostage’s mobile again at a later time.

Hadley has vowed to stay with the story in his 2GB studio for as long as it takes.

We’ll bring you more as details come through.

The latest is this tweet from 2GB.

The show is also likely to compete with 2UE's cricket coverage at least for the latter part of the show as it approaches midday.

His new six day week is meant to mirror the changes happening to news cycles and working weeks.

Ray Hadley's latest campaign: 2MC needs a new clacker!

Friday 01 August, 2014
Ray Hadley does a lot of charity work and this week a footy related cause close to his heart took him to 2MC territory on the NSW north coast. Last night he was the MC and Auctioneer at Club Forster for the Curtis Landers Fundraiser where a sell-out crowd of 700 attended and raised about $250 000 for the charity.

Curtis was seriously injured in a junior rugby league match a couple of months ago in Port.
