Who listens to the radio over summer?

GfK Radio Insights (formerly AudienScope) is a national online survey of behaviour, providing context and additional perspective to the Australian radio ratings. The research is released quarterly and involves 5,000 respondents per year.

While the radio ratings provide data on "who" is listening to "what", Radio Insights looks at the reasons "why" by delving deeper into listening behaviour.

The radio industry is converging on Brisbane for this Friday's Radio Alive conference and Saturday night's ACRAs.

It's the big industry event and of course radioinfo will be there to cover it.

Our advance team, Peter and Wendy are already in sunny Brisbane and report that there may be some showers tomorrow for anyone arriving the day before, but that Friday will be sunny. Hot days between 28 - 31 degrees are expected.

New Radio Alive campaign promotes return on investment

Commercial Radio Australia has launched a new marketing campaign to promote the high return on investment of advertising on radio, working with national brands such as ALDI, Koala and Liquorland to remind the industry that marketing delivers results.
 
CRA chief executive officer, Joan Warner, “Advertising works and brands that invest in radio will be rewarded with a strong return on investment. Radio offers broad reach and allows brands to maintain their share of voice.”

The podcast is his story of alcohol addiction.

Radio industry unites to grow podcasting #RadioAlive2018

Commercial Radio Australia will establish a Podcast Working Group, comprised of major radio players - commercial, ABC and SBS - to spearhead the development of the growing podcast industry in Australia.

Announcing the initiative at today's Radio Alive national conference, Joan Warner said the working group will be charged with developing an all-of-industry podcast strategy, including recommendations on measurement, promotion and research.

Alexa gets the RadioApp skill #RadioAlive2018

Commercial Radio Australia have launched the RadioApp skill for Alexa, which makes it simple and convenient for listeners to ask Alexa to play any of nearly 300 Australian AM, FM and DAB+ digital radio stations.

Radio leaders converge on Melbourne for #RadioAlive2018

The commercial radio industry’s national radio conference, Radio Alive 2018 is on tomorrow at the Melbourne Convention & Entertainment Centre.

Melbourne's weather has cleared this afternoon and a warm sunny day is expected tomorrow.

Around 600 delegates including on-air presenters, CEOs, station owners, senior executives and station managers from radio stations across Australia and media agency staff will attend Commercial Radio's big day, which celebrates the vibrancy of radio and focuses on forward thinking trends and innovations.
