Politics and footy don’t clash on FIVEaa

On the first anniversary of the launch of Digital Radio FIVEaa has announced that it will use the medium to exclusively broadcast a special program bringing Adelaide listeners results from the Federal Election as they come to hand on the night of August 21.

With Adelaide having one of the highest digital radio take-up rates per capita, which management reckons is thanks in part to a strong promotional campaign featuring dmg Radio Australia’s Group Technology Director Steve Adler, FIVEaa is now taking the medium one step further.

Although the station is committed to broadcasting the Crows V Collingwood clash live from the MCG on the night on 1395 AM, rather than simulcast the match, the digital signal will be dedicated to a special program analysing the election results, hosted by FIVEaa’s News and Current Affairs Director Matthew Pantelis.

The Digital program will be complemented by on-line streaming at www.fiveaa.com.au and feature the latest news updates from journalists in the FIVEaa Newsroom, commentary from political analysts and interviews with key politicians.

For those listeners who own a new digital radio and have hung on to their old AM unit, they’ll be able to have one ear on the election and the other on the  footy in the hope that both their teams come up as winners.
