PAT on the back as former rivals join forces

Broadcast industry veterans Patrick Salloch and Tony Fitzsimmons have joined forces to form Professional Audio Technology (PAT), the latest pro audio supplier and distributor in Australia and New Zealand to serve the professional audio and broadcasting sectors. The pair sparred many times in the past whilst bidding for rival console manufacturers in the biggest post production and broadcasting facilities in Australia, but the duo have now called a truce and pooled their expertise.

Salloch, who previously headed Klotz Digital both in Australia and the Asian Pacific, is looking forward to his business partnership with Fitzsimmons, who many industry professionals will recognise following his work with both Lawo Australia and Protel.

The industry pedigree and market knowledge shared by the duo is reflected in the number of highly esteemed brands that PAT has already brought under its wing in the three months since foundation. Among them is InfoMedia, a manufacturer of portable flash recorders, play-out software for radio applications, ethernet switches and software solutions such as PowerEditor,  the world’s first native format multi-track sound editing system.

An exclusive distribution arrangement has also recently been confirmed with Danish Interpretation Systems (DIS), world leader in conferencing and interpretation technologies. Further arrangements have been made with Optocore GmbH, a company known for its world class data, audio and video fibre network distribution technology and K.M.E. (Klingethaler Musikelektronik), the most respected public address manufacturers in Germany.

Salloch, in his role of Managing Director will primarily look after the sales and marketing of PAT and Technology Director Fitzsimmons will oversee the engineering department including system design, pre- and post-sales service, customer training and system installations.

Most recently, Broadcast Asia 2010 saw Patrick Salloch enter into an agreement with Klotz AIS to supply a select range of the German manufacturer’s cable catalogue to the Australian professional A/V and installation market. In addition to this, the young company now also sells Focal studio monitors,  one of the most awarded studio monitor manufacturers in the world.

A further addition to the list of brands is now Bel (Digital Audio) from the UK, a company renowned for the ultra-high specification audio/video equipment for professional broadcast and studio “in-line” applications, with over 30 years experience in design and manufacture of quality audio solutions.

Managing Director Bel (Digital Audio) Michael Barnard, says:

“I am delighted to be adding Professional Audio Technology (PAT) to our world-wide dealer network. PAT share in our belief of providing exceptionally well engineered solutions to meet the demands expected by the broadcast community. High build quality, reliability, functionality and ease of use have been the core tenets behind all our designs for over 30 years, and this is something that I feel will have resonance with many broadcasters within Australia. I am looking forward to expanding our sales network in Australia and to developing long term success with Professional Audio Technology.”

Patrick Salloch is confident that further brands will be brought under the PAT umbrella shortly:

“We are currently in negotiations with some other well established European companies who will provide very strong synergies with the brands we already have on board,’ he enthused. ‘Watch this space and come and see us at Integrate 2010 in August for further announcements. We pride ourselves on the close relationships that we have built with the manufacturers we represent and we fully intend to provide our Australian and New Zealand customers with outstanding products, pre- and post-sales technical support, system design and installation, and of course, value for money.”

Professional Audio Technology will be at Booth T4 during the Integrate 2010 exhibition at the Hordern Pavilion and Royal Hall of Industries, Moore Park Sydney, from the 24th to 26th of August.
