2CH goes to DAB+ only as AM1170 moves to sport in Sydney

2CH will ditch it's AM music feed and become a DAB+ only station, as SEN launches 1170 SEN in Sydney later this year.

Pacific Star bought 2CH from EON in June, acquiring both the AM and DAB+ frequencies.

SENTrack on the move to 1593 AM in Melbourne

SENTrack Melbourne has moved all of their chasing, pacing and racing action onto their new home of 1593 AM in Melbourne.
The move is part of a number of changes to the AM band around Melbourne which saw the Ace Radio Network buy 1377 AM, and Rete Italia moved from 1593AM to DAB+, while Pacific Star picked up 2CH in Sydney.
Rete Italia’s 1539AM in Sydney is also expected to move onto DAB+.






SEN launches 1629 SEN Mt Gambier

SEN today announced expanded reach into South Australia with the launch of 1629 SEN Mt Gambier, servicing South Australia’s South East corridor.

SEN’s presence in South Australia has increased rapidly in the past 12 months , with the station’s launch late 2018 and its recent unveiling of new studios at the iconic 1 King William Street address, known as Studio Lumo. 

Whateley re-signs with SEN for another three years

Acclaimed Australian sports broadcaster and 1116 SEN Chief Sports Caller Gerard Whateley has re-signed for a further three years, taking him through until 2022.
Since joining SEN and Crocmedia in 2018, Gerard has shared his astute sporting insight and opinions, as well as his engaging live sport commentary with listeners, achieving a string of accolades during his time with the station.

Pacifiic Star increases profit by 15%

SEN and MyMP parent company, Pacific Star has released its annual report.

Combined revenue for radio and print businesses increased 15% to $23.98 million.

Radio broadcast revenue was $14.49 million, an increase of $100,000 on last year.

NPAT (net profit after tax) was $1.09m, up from a loss of $79,000 last year.

The company has recognised $610,941 of restructuring costs. These costs are predominantly the impact of redundancy and terminations across all parts of the business and by their nature are considered to be one-off costs.

Revenue up, Pacific Star in expansion mode

Reported half year revenues for SEN parent company Pacific Star increased by 40% to $13.336 million with an underlying EBITDA of $2.318 million, and a net profit after tax result of $1.051 million, before significant items).

The company increased its divend slightly, to pay 1.35 cents per share.

Broadcast revenue increased by about $800,000 on he previous corresponding period, and the big revenue increase was driven by the acquisition of a new publishing business.

Profit (NPAT) was $834,113, double that achieved in the previous period.

Pacific Star's 36% profit increase

Pacific Star Network's recorded a profit before tax of $1.45 million, up 36.7% on the previous year, according to its annual report, released today.

The result was achieved through "tight cost management resulting in a 1.6% reduction in day to day operating costs over the period."

A strong EBITDA result of $1.87 million was achieved, up 19.1% on the comparative period (2013: $1.57 million). This result was at the top end of the earnings guidance of $1.6-$1.9 million.

Pacific Star Network reports profit increase of 29.5%

Pacific Star Network has reported a profit increase of 29.5% in it's Preliminary Final Report for the year ending 30 June, 2014 resulting in a full year dividend of 1.6 cents.

The ASX listed media company owns two Melbourne AM commercial broadcasting licenses and broadcasts 24/7 on 1377 MyMP and 1116 SEN and has recently aquired the Inside Football Magazine.

Reduced operating costs have genereted a 62% profit rise for Pacific Star, the owner of SEN and MyMP in Melbourne.

The listed company has reported flat revenue of $7.7 million in its interim financial report, with profit from ordinary activities, before tax, up 62% to $785,000. Pacific Star paid a dividend of 0.7 cents per share. Operating costs were down 3.4%. Pacific Star also publishes sports magazines.
