Simon Barnett awarded Outstanding Contribution to Radio: NZ Radio Awards

The winners of the 2019 New Zealand Radio Awards have been announced at a special gala awards ceremony at Sky City Theatre in Auckland.

First place honors for ‘Network Station of the Year’ went to ZM Network.

‘Station of the Year–Non-Surveyed Market’ went to first time winners Sun FM in Whakatane with More FM Manawatu awarded ‘Station of the Year–Surveyed Market’.

The industry’s premier award for ‘Outstanding Contribution to Radio’ was presented to Simon Barnett for his contribution to New Zealand radio.

NZ Radio Awards are a fortnight away

The 2019 NZ Radio Awards are just two weeks away and will be held at Sky City Theatre in Auckland on Thursday 20 June from 4.30pm.
 
The hosts for the night are first time hosts of the Radio Awards two of the industry’s most loved broadcasters, Meg Annear from MediaWorks and Megan Papas from NZME.

Mediaworks celebrates success at NZ Radio Awards 2017

MediaWorks Radio is celebrating this evening as it takes home a total of 26 coveted awards at the New Zealand Radio Awards 2017.

Duncan Garner (pictured) accepted Best Talk Presenter for RadioLIVE Drive, and RadioLIVE’s Lloyd Burr was awarded the prestigious Best News Journalist.

The Rock won big with Jono and Ben’s drive show receiving Best Music Non-Breakfast Team – Network, as well as Best Client Promotion - Network for ‘Cool Town Bro’.

Entries are now being called for the 2017 NZ Radio Awards.

Entries for the 2017 Awards will once again be driven through the Radio Awards website. As with previous years, entrants will be required to register as a user at www.radioawards.co.nz and follow an easy step by step process for submitting an entry.

Entries are now open and close Monday March 6th, with late entries closing Friday March 10th.

There are two exciting new categories for the 2017 NZ Radio Awards.

Added to Best On-Air is the new ‘Best Music Non-Breakfast Solo Host – Network’. This is to recognize an individual who displays an outstanding ability to engage, inform and entertain their target market in a minimum of three surveyed markets.

‘Best Creative Feature’, which can be found in the Best Content section, is to recognise a one-off feature, programme or an outstanding piece of creative radio.

NZ Radio Awards 2015 winners announced

As Australian broadcasters work feverishly to compile their ACRA entries, the 2015 NZ Radio Awards have been announced.

Some of the big winners include Mediaworks veteren Leon Wratt who picked up Best Content Director. Hilary Barry, RadioLIVE Network won the Best Newsreader gong while the Sales Team of the Year went to Mediaworks, Canterbury.
