Hear what was cut out of Fitzy and Wippa's show

Wednesday 16 July, 2014
It didn't get to air, but it has gone online.

This week MasterChef's Matt Preston accidentally let the F word slip out on Fitzy and Wippa's Nova 96.9 breakfast show.

The slip was well covered in the media, so Fitzy and Wippa presumably decided to give it a run online.

So far this week in Sydney Kiis' Kyle has throw up on air, 2Day twitter followers have glimped Sophie Monk's breasts and Nova listeners have seen Preston swear.

It must be the first week of the new ratings season.

The Battle for under 40's Breakfast in Sydney

Wednesday 09 July, 2014

SCA’s Craig Bruce, ARN’s Duncan Campbell and Nova Entertainment’s Paul Jackson draw battlelines in a war of attrition.

Last year, when it became clear that Kyle and Jackie O were leaving SCA to join ARN, the radio pundits wondered whether the Sydney market could support three stations all targeting under 40’s.

5 Seconds of Summer come home to Nova

Thursday 03 July, 2014
Australian pop punk sensation 5 Seconds of Summer continue their world domination and are taking over Nova in the process.

Mikey and Callum from the band will choose their favourite songs to play, and answer questions that all the fans want to hear. Plus, on the back of their self-titled debut album released last week, the boys will reveal their favourite tracks and the stories behind them.

Hughesy back on Nova breakfast... limited return season

Thursday 26 June, 2014

Former Nova 100 breakfast host Dave Hughes will return to host Nova’s national breakfast show for two weeks from next Monday 30 June.

Joining Hughesy for the first week will be his long term radio partner Kate Langbroek, allowing listeners to experience the madness and frivolity of one of Nova’s favourite breakfast teams Hughesy & Kate.

For his second week on air, Hughesy will be joined by comedian Peter Helliar.

Will you be taking this afternoon off?

Thursday 19 June, 2014
On Nova yesterday, NSW Premier Mike Baird gave NSW workers his permission to take the afternoon off if the Blues won last night's State of Origin match.

Chanelling Bob Hawke on Fitzy and Wippa's show yesterday, Baird said:

"...any boss who doesn’t give their employees an early mark if we win tomorrow is a BUM!"

Getting him into the Hawkey spirit, Fitzy and Wippa gave Baird a suitably loud Bob Hawke style jacket to wear for the big match.

Mark Wahlberg gets Abbott’s wink of approval

Friday 23 May, 2014

At the premiere of the Transformers movie, Mark Walburg played along with Nova’s Deano to get Tony Abbot’s wink of approval.
Walburg asks Tony to “give us a wink if you’re gonna see Transformers” to which, thanks to some basic editing, the Prime Minister does “live in studio”.

Fitzy flashes Sam Armytage

Friday 16 May, 2014

After an interview with Fitzy and Wippa on their Nova breakfast show this morning, Samantha Armytage was confronted with a nude Fitzy in their Nova Panic Room.
She was led into the pitch black room where Fitzy stood naked and was asked to feel around and describe what she thought was in the room with her.
“Its like a…person?”
“It’s a man I think, or a woman with big muscles”
Before entering the room Sam admitted she was scared of what could be in there.

PM backs Prince Will...for PM

Tuesday 22 April, 2014

Nova's made the most of the Royal visit with an ambush marketing campaign celebrating the young couple's trip down under.

Handing out Nova branded signs saying "Say hi to Harry for me" and "Will for PM" to waiting crowds - the campaign hit the jackpot when the actual Prime Minister was snapped holding one of the signs.

We knew the PM was a fan of the Royal Family but we didn't think he'd take it this far!
