Jay Walkerden won't return to Nova Brisbane

Jay Walkerden will not be returning to Nova Brisbane following an investigation into an alleged incident in the US earlier this year.

The investigation is believed to relate to an alleged incident during a work trip to San Francisco with the Nova 106.9 breakfast team.

Brisbane media combine forces to raise funds for the Bushfire crisis

Nova 106.9 has joined forces with News Corp, Nine, QMS and TLA to host an industry fundraiser tonight, Thursday 23 January 2020, with all proceeds going to Australian Red Cross.

Nova's bids to help sick kids will aid Telethon

Nova 106.9 has launched their second Nova’s Bids to Help Sick Kids, a silent auction to raise funds for children in need for the 2019 Nine Telethon with a live broadcast from the Qld Children’s Hospital.
 
As the exclusive radio partner of the event and a major fundraising driver for the campaign, Nova’s silent auction items include a Hyundai Kona Active and much more, with bidding for a range of generous prizes closing at 4pm on Friday 15 November 2019.

Susie O'Neill surprises a junior super swimming fan

A little Brisbane swimmer had her dreams come true when her idol showed up at her swim school yesterday.
 
Super cute 6-year-old Ira told her parents that it was legendary swimmer Susie O’Neill who had inspired her to become a swimmer and even made up a song about Susie that featured the lyrics
 
“Susie won a gold medal and she worked hard for it because she wanted to be a champion.
 
Susie never ‘gived’ up and we should never ‘gived’ up if we want to be a champion.” 
 

Nova 106.9 is moving to Suncorp for SOO

Queenslanders have declared it’s game on with the first State of Origin game happening this Wednesday and Nova 106.9 is moving their studio to Suncorp Stadium in support.
 
Nova’s Ash, Kip, Luttsy & Susie O’Neill will broadcast live from Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday morning alongside Channel 9’s Today Show and the team will back up that evening with a pre-game broadcast at the stadium.
 

Brisbane's Mayor jumps off the Goodwill Bridge
