“From January 15, 2018, Polly & Grant’s breakfast show will be extending beyond More FM Wellington and Kapiti into four additional regions: Waikato, Rotorua, Whanganui and More FM will broadcast on two frequencies in Dunedin, giving listeners the option to tune in to Si & Gary on 97.4FM or Polly & Grant on 100.6FM.”

Results for the second New Zealand survey of 2016 have been released for the Major Markets, as well as Auckland and Wellington.

Population data indicates about 3,162,000 people aged 10+ years live in the Major Markets survey area used for the Commercial Radio Audience Measurement Survey. Of these, 78.2% listen to a commercial radio station each week. 347,000 people aged 10+ years live in the Wellington survey area.

Results of the Auckland 2015 Commercial Radio Audience Measurement Survey conducted by TNS New Zealand was released today at 1pm.
 
Department of Statistics Estimated Population data at 30 June 2014 indicates that there are approximately 1,207,600 people aged over 10 years in the Auckland survey area used for the Radio Audience Measurement Survey.  Of these 1,207,600 people, 75.0% listen to a commercial radio station at some time during the week.
 

iHeartRadio New Zealand Launches NBR Radio Station

 iHeartRadio New Zealand has announced it is partnering with the National Business Review (NBR) to add NBR Radio to the platform to continue to grow the depth of it’s content offering across all genres.

NBR Radio offers listeners a dedicated stream of business news, plus in-depth analysis that complements its print and online articles.

First NZ survey cancelled

The first survey in New Zealand has been cancelled by the Radio Broadcasters Association, as they browse the market for other providers that will bring an enhanced surveying method to the table.

The announcement comes at the expiration of the previous survey provider's contract.

The Radio Broadcasters Asscoation says they need more time to locate a research company who will effectively reflect how the younger generation are consuming radio. The previous provider was TNS.

Mediaworks restructure merges newsrooms and makes digital more central

New Zealand’s MediaWorks has announced a new organisational structure in the News and Digital areas, aimed at “growing a thriving, integrated media business.”

MediaWorks  owns and operates TV3 and FOUR and has more than half the NZ commercial radio market including The Edge, The Rock, More, George, Mai, The Breeze, and RadioLIVE, and a strong portfolio of websites, mobile and tablets.

New brand identity for APN New Zealand's radio, online and print media

The Radio Network (TRN) and APN's other media properties in New Zealand have rebranded, and will now be known as New Zealand Media & Entertainment or NZME.

The new brand was launched to unify the print, radio, digital and e-commerce brands previously known as APN NZ, TRN and GrabOne under one new overarching brand.
