2GB's Natalie Peters tests positive for Covid19

2GB newsreader Natalie Peters has been diagnosed with coronavirus.

After returning from overseas she isolated herself and, in her first week of isolation, developed symptoms then took a drive-thru test that came back positive.

“I can’t tell you how relieved I’m feeling right now that I’ve not been wandering around the streets of Sydney for the past 11 days.

“I’ve been strict with my isolation and that’s the thing that stops me from making it worse.”

Natalie Peters and Erin Molan won the ACRA for the Best On Air Team in AM Radio last weekend.

It was a pivotal moment in Australian talk radio history. No female duo has ever won that award before.

“It’s incredible to think about it like that,” Natalie Peters told Steve Ahern just after winning the ACRA.

“We just get in the studio and talk, it wasn’t really until tonight that someone pointed out that there had never been a female duo…

The mostly male dominated talk radio format at 2GB changed during the holiday season.

In an unheard-of precendent, 2GB aired 10 hours of female hosts on some nights during December and January.

When radioinfo checked the schedule on several nights over the past two months the lineup was:

Miranda Devine has decided to take a break from her Sunday night show on 2GB and 4BC to spend more time with her family.

Replacing her will be Natalie Peters and Michael Pachi, who have been hosting the timeslot during the summer holiday break.

Last week they interviewed Mel Greig in the Sunday evening timeslot.
