Mix101.1 Breakfast comedian co-host George McEncroe has been dropped from the Melbourne ARN station.

Announcing her departure, ARN General Manager Steve Rowe has told radioinfo the change is about “streamlining the show.”

Breakfast will now be made up of Brigitte Duclos, Tom Gleeson and a more active role from show anchor Simon Diaz. The show will be called “Mix Mornings with Brig and Tom.”

The breakfast show lost 0.3 share points in this week’s survey and now sits at 3.8%, towards the bottom of the pack in that timeslot.

The show has performed well in its female target 35-49 years according to Rowe: “We have ranked number two or three FM in this area and its one we want to grow further. We see the new combination as helping us achieve that. This is an adjustment not an overhaul.“

McEncroe says she has enjoyed working on Mix with Brig, Tom and the team. “I wish them all the very best. It is a tough, competitive environment we work in. I’m not the first comedian to find myself in this position.“
