McDonald's was the top Fast Food brand on radio this month, with 385 instances across 34 stations between 14 - 20 September 2016?

McDonald's was closely followed by Sumo Salad Double Chicken Caesar with 304 instances across 14 stations. Across the Top 5 Brands, the spots were most likely to be placed in Afternoons.

While the spotlight has, rightly, been on the spate of domestic violence attacks on the Gold Coast recently, including the fatal attack on Gold Coast woman Tara Brown and the horror shooting at McDonalds Helensvale, many may have overloooked the effect these violent events have had on staff at the fast food restaurant.

After the tragic domestic violence related shooting of a woman outside a Gold Coast McDonalds restaurant, the company has pulled all radio advertising off air.

The company requested stations to remove ads from air at short notice this week for around 48 hours, particularly asking that ads not be played around news bulletins.

In a huge effort to raise awareness and much needed funds for the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Gosford Hospital, Craig and Mandy from the Star104.5 Breakfast Show have just completed their first ever 24-hour live broadcast from McDonalds at West Gosford raising more than $90,000.
 
All money raised throughout the radio-thon will go towards the ongoing running costs of the Family Room, to continue assisting families with sick kids on the Central Coast.
