Magic Mike winners

The winner of Nova’s Man Hunt for Magic Mike was Mr September, Matthew Gioia from Victoria.

Runner up was Mr April, Ben Wells, also from Victoria.

Nova’s national Drive team, Meshel, Tim & Marty chose 12 guys from around Australia who have secured a place in the man hunt for Magic Mike calendar, and today Roadshow Entertainment revealed Mr September as the ultimate winner of the competition.

This week the 12 guys became calendar pin ups, as they were bronzed and styled for photo shoots around the country, to feature on the pages of one month of a limited edition 2013 calendar.

Themed around specific calendar events or to reflect their personalities, the shoots featured cupid wings, cowboy chaps, a superhero costume, autumn leaves, Mothers Day (Mr May below), and even a bunny…but not a lot else.

The shoots were not without their difficulties. Mr March’s Easter shoot hit a snag when it was discovered rabbits are illegal in Brisbane but Nova managed to locate the only legal bunny owed by a magician called “Magic Mike”.

Sourcing autumn leaves in Spring was challenging enough without having to ensure they were large enough for modesty and even duct tape failed to secure Mr. December’s Christmas bow.

The full year’s calendar pin up buys are:

  • Mr January – Andrew Erickson (QLD)
  • Mr February – Shaun Bewick (WA)
  • Mr March – Domenic Zavaglia (QLD)
  • Mr April – Ben Wells (VIC)
  • Mr May – Edward Gilmartin (SA)
  • Mr June – Daniel Gratta (NSW)
  • Mr July – Robert Zanotta (VIC)
  • Mr August – Steve Magoulias (NSW)
  • Mr September – Matthew Gioia (VIC)
  • Mr October – Michael Furfaro (NSW)
  • Mr November – Jeremy Wells (NSW)
  • Mr December – Daniel Pope (NSW)cowboymrnovember_800

Entrants were nominated by girlfriends, family and friends or registered themselves to become part of the top 20. Listeners around Australia then voted for their favourite finalists to make the final 12.

The Magic Mike calendar was revealed at a party thrown by Roadshow Entertainment in Sydney today with the 12 finalists flown in from around the country. Mr September takes home $5000 for his efforts.
