Former 3XY and EON announcer, John Hood, has passed away from complications arising from COVID-19
The 66-year-old had been living in Suffolk, England, where he tested positive for the coronavirus and was admitted to hospital.
Before heading to the UK in 2004, John had also worked at Bay 93.9, K Rock and Pulse FM.

With the first half of 2019 done and dusted, AirCheck Australia tallied which tracks received the most airplay on Australian radio.

AirCheck Client Services Executive, Riarne Gale says: 
“A total of 37,448 different songs were played over 2,000,000 times during the six month period. Of those, over 450,000 spins were from an Australian artist or band.”

Recent court decision may affect promotional worker pay rates

A Geelong station has been caught up in a pay dispute as a result of a recent court ruling relating to the miscellaneous workers award.
K rock is in mediation with former employee Jacob O’Brien, who claims the station underpaid him by up to $10 per hour on weekend shifts.
O’Brien, who worked for K Rock as a casual promotions employee, has lodged a complaint with the Fair Work Ombudsman for underpayment of $180 for work conducted during three weekend shifts, which he believes should have been paid at penalty rates.

K rock's Stampsy is so overjoyed for her co-host Jamie's impending fatherhood, she wanted to throw he and his partner Chanelle the baby-shower ever.

They shared a special morning with Departure Lounge listeners, invited guests and a VIP panel of experts, with a delicious morning tea and baby shower games.

Above all, this was for a for a good cause. All the gifts from the listeners for Jamie’s baby shower were donated to Geelong Mums.

Few international singing contests speak to Krock’s brekkie duo Tom Lewis and Sarah Maree Cameron like Eurovision.
The two announcers have made a habit of getting out of the studio and up on stage to strut their stuff since Cameron joined the team in January.
This month, the (Euro-pop) stars aligned when both the official Eurovision competition kicked off in Portugal and ‘Song Contest: The Almost Eurovision Show’ kicked off in the equally exotic locale of Geelong.
