SCA's digital assets remain #1 in radio

Southern Cross Austereo’s digital assets have held their #1 radio group position in Nielsen’s Digital Ratings for May 2016.
SCA is #1 radio publisher with 355,784 Average Daily Unique Browsers and #9 Australian Mobile Publisher according to Nielsen’s Market Intelligence.
The Hit Network and Triple M’s digital platforms are #1 and #2 radio brands in the country with unique audiences of 660,000 and 535,000 respectively.

Hamish and Andy spent 5 days on the Carnival Spirit from Sydney to Vanuatu last week with 110 listeners and broadcast their national drive show live from the sea.

27,000 listeners entered to try and win a spot on The People’s Cruise – the biggest response to a Hamish & Andy competition ever.

Em Rusciano returns to the Hit Network

Em Rusciano will return to the Hit Network this month to host a brand new show, The Em Rusciano Radio Show. 

Hitting the airwaves from Sunday June 19th across metro and regional Hit Network stations, The Em Rusciano Radio Show will feature two hours (6-8pm) of the most honest conversations on radio, with frank and funny discussions between Rusciano, her guests and listeners.

Record digital audience for SCA

Nielsen’s latest digital publishing results have revealed a total audience for SCA of 1.486M for the month of February.
This figure is the highest ever recorded by SCA.
The Hit Network and Triple M are also placed #1 and #2 radio network respectively, with Entertainment and Sport continuing to engage SCA’s audience digitally. Triple M Sydney was the biggest radio website based on Unique Digital Audience in February.

Scoopla partners with Twitter

The Hit Network’s Scoopla site has partnered with Twitter to launch Twitter Moments in Australia.

Moments is a new feature being rolled out by Twitter that allows only select publishers such as Scoopla to create a new type of content on the social networking site by collating a collection of tweets related to a particular event.

Within the first 24 hours of the feature being launched, Scoopla started publishing Moments.

From age 14, Gemma Fordham has enjoyed a charmed career in radio and as personal assistant to one of the world’s biggest movie stars, Nicole Kidman. Despite marriage and bearing two young children, the pieces have all fallen into place as she landed one exciting position after another.

Although things have improved dramatically over the past decade, radio can still be a bit of a boys’ club. Surely, she would have found some resistance from old school males as she rose up the radio ranks…
