Hobart’s hit100.9 Breakfast team, Jimmy & Nath, know how to make a new team member feel welcome, engaging a 70-person choir to serenade their new producer, Grace Garde.
The Brekkie Boys, invited Grace into the studio for a segment to introduce her to Hobart while the Hit100.9 team smuggled 70 people into the studio from the Sing For Your Life! Choir to perform a specially rehearsed version of ‘Amazing Grace’.

Grace Garde will join Hobart’s Hit100.9 to host workdays from 1pm-3pm from Monday  June 17.
Grace began her radio career at Southern Cross Austereo Gosford in promotions before moving to her most recent gig on Power FM in Nowra after graduating from AFTRS in 2017.

When Hit100.9’s Jimmy & Nath challenged Alex Peroni, a 19-year-old current Formula3 driver to the race, he was more than happy to wack on the helmet and put the pedal to the metal, to achieve 15kms an hour on a granny scooter.

When Hit100.9’s Jimmy & Nath challenged Formula 3 driver Alex Peroni to a race, he didn’t think it would be capped at 15km an hour...or on a granny scooter.
Racing cars on an international level before he had his regular licence, Peroni (19) is no stranger to a high intensity race as other than Daniel Ricciardo, Peroni, is the only Australian driving in either Formula 2 or 3 ranks and is expected to be our next Formula 1 star.

When Hit Hobart’s Jimmy & Nath heard about a local man taking his horse and carriage through a McDonald’s drive-thru, they instantly put the call out to Hobart so they could get in on the action.

Lex Clark, of Wayatinah in Tasmania’s south, was spotted early in the week, heading through the McDonald’s Drive Thru in a horse and carriage to get a soft serve for himself and his horses, Sparky and Max.

Claiming it had always been a dream, Jimmy and Nath asked Lex if they could come along next time Lex was riding out.

What a song to be playing just as you go off air

A major fault hit Hobart’s Mount Wellington this morning at around 10:15am sending all commercial stations in the city off air for over an hour.
For the techos the problem was a feeder to the upper stack.
For the music buffs, we didn’t know we were about to go off air, but the song playing at the time on Hit 100.9 couldn’t have been a better choice.


Hobart radio survey released

Radio ratings have been released for Hobart, providing up-to-date data on who’s listening to radio in the Tasmanian capital.

The most listened to station is 936ABC Hobart, with 20.8%, followed by Hit 100.9 on 18.2%.

7HO was third most listened to station, with 16.3%, followed by Heart 107.3 on 13.9%.
