They were so tantalising close from knocking the rusted on 2GB from its position as Sydney’s overall number one radio station with just 0.01% separating the two but in today’s GfK Survey 4 results, smooth relinquished all gains to own a 9.1 share to 2GB’s 11.3.

Radio head reacts to claims survey system is inaccurate

ARN's Duncan Campbell has disputed claims in today's Courier Mail the current diary system used in radio surveys doesn't reflect what listeners hear in the market place.

The Brisbane paper's article suggests, "radio insiders are hoping for a digital overhaul of 'archaic' radio surveys, which still rely on paper diaries to rank radio programs".

Hit Network adds Collective Noun to late nights

Collective Noun has been added to the Hit Network's national late nights, broadcasting from 11pm-1am (Monday to Thursday) straight after Ash London Live.
 
Dom Fay, Zach Mander and Michael Parente makeup Collective Noun and have, over the past 12 months, been regular content providers for news.com.au.

They have 60 million views online with their sketch videos and have grown their Facebook following to almost 100,000.  

Constance Hall to present Hit Network Sunday mornings

Best-selling author and Perth based blogging sensation Constance Hall has joined the Hit Network’s weekend line up.

She will be joined by her bestie Annaliese Dent to bring The Queen Sesh nationally, across 43 metro and regional Hit Network stations on Sunday mornings 7– 9am.

Constance has blown up the internet with her hilarious take on raising a family, being a wife and most importantly, being a fellow Queen to her legion of fans, but don’t call them fans, they are Queens!

Carrie Bickmore is joining the Hit Network in 2017 with a national show, live daily from 3pm.

Carrie is no stranger to radio, having worked on air for almost 10 years before joining Channel 10's The Project as co-host and picking up a Gold Logie along the way. She started her career on Perth's Hit 92.9 FM in 1999 and has chosen the Hit Network for her long-awaited return to the airwaves.

Local weekend breakfast shows to be rolled out by the Hit Network

The Hit Network will welcome local weekend breakfast shows to each metro city, from 7 - 9am on Saturdays.

Ryan Jon and Tanya Hennessy will host Sydney's Saturday breakfast, commencing Saturday January 28, in addition to co-hosting their weekday breakfast show on Canberra's hit104.7.

It was just last month following the release of the final survey of 2016 that the Hit Network's Head of Content Gemma Fordham was asked by radioinfo about the lack of impact 2DayFM's Rove and Sam had made in the Sydney breakfast market, finishing the year languishing with just a 3.8% share.
