Albany local Katie McAllister has been appointed the inaugural Eoin Cameron Memorial Internship. Katie grew up in Cameron’s hometown and previously interned for ABC Great Southern Radio and produced her own program on Albany Community Radio before commencing her Bachelor of Arts at UWA.

Belinda Varischetti, currently the presenter of The Country Hour in WA will be the new host of 720 ABC Perth's Drive shift in 2017.
Varischetti has featured as a regular on the late Eoin Cameron's Breakfast program over the years but the majority of her time at ABC has been with the Rural department, hosting the Country Hour since 2011.
The former AFL footballer and Fremantle Captain will join the station later in 2016. He currently presents afternoons on rival talk station 6PR.
Bell has been a familiar voice on Perth radio for a number of years since his retirement from football in 2008, both as a radio host and football expert.
Much loved radio veteran Eoin “Cammo” Cameron has been laid to rest in Perth.
His career spanned 47 years, before he retired from ABC 720 earlier this year.
The former breakfast host said his decision to retire was one he didn’t make lightly, but he had struggled to overcome severe spinal injuries from a car accident in 2013.
Eoin died last month from a suspected heart attack while on a holiday in Albany.

“Following my car accident in October 2013, in which my back was fractured, I had a number of procedures, which have only been partially successful, as has the subsequent pain management. I’m now facing a major operation, which I am confident will improve my quality of life.”
