Adelaide gets the KIIS of life

Thursday 26 March, 2015

This year has marked the much-anticipated extension of ARN’s hugely successful KIIS brand beyond Sydney and Melbourne.

It appears the rebranding of Adelaide’s Mix 102.3 has begun in earnest with banners spotted around the city this week.

ARN revealed late last year Mix 102.3 and Brisbane’s 97.3 would be rebranded under the KIIS label but would not be renamed to retain their strong heritage within their individual cities.

Tuesday 14 October, 2014

Brendan ‘Jonesy’ Jones and Amanda Keller have renewed their contracts with WSFM breakfast for three more years.

Currently in their ninth year on air together, 2014 has been a good year for Jonesy & Amanda, scoring top spot in the FM breakfast rankings for four out of the six surveys.

WSFM's overall ratings also continues to climb after a successful rebrand as part of the new Pure Gold Network.

ARN's Duncan Campbell won't rule out rebranding Mix 101.1 as KIIS

Monday 01 September, 2014

KIIS FM has been a huge success in Sydney, so why not Melbourne?

Of course, there are lots of reasons, starting with the fact that it was not the name change but Kyle and Jackie O’s defection from 2Day that made the difference to the ailing Mix 106.5. But no one has ever been successful networking a Breakfast show to another city - especially from Sydney to Melbourne.

"My focus is on 2015" Duncan Campbell on ARN's battle to retake Melbourne

Tuesday 26 August, 2014

Let's talk Sydney first. Given the giant swings they’ve experienced, ARN Content Chief Duncan Campbell is first to admit that it’s lucky for ARN that they own both KIIS 106.5 and WSFM. After just two surveys in the top FM Breakfast spot, Jonesy and Amanda came back to earth with a thud dropping a massive 2.1 in audience share while their stable mates. Kyle and Jackie O shot up by 1.5… a 3.6 turnaround.

Melbourne is the new FM battleground

Four stations share a 6.9 share

Peter Saxon gathers the thoughts of Duncan Campbell, Paul Jackson and Craig Bruce.

It’s a curious thing. Up until now, Sydney was the frontline of radio wars in Australia. Not that it’s without some skirmishes. But following the major upheaval of Kyle and Jackie O defecting to KIIS it all seems to have settled down. K & J have taken most of it’s listeners with them from 2Day-FM TO KIIS, leaving the former with the audience share that Mix 106.5 used to have – which is not much.

Oooze number one then, really?

Is it about cume or share?

War of words between major networks escalates

So, let’s see if we can get this straight.

Duncan at ARN says that, based on shares, his network owns the number one FM station in each of the four metro markets where his organisation operates.

Over at Nova Entertainment, Paul reckons Nova is the clear number one network based on cumes from all five metro markets surveyed.
