Radio ad revenue has recorded an increase in November 2016 up 5.5% to $72.411 million, according to the metropolitan commercial radio advertising revenue, sourced by Deloitte and released today by industry body, Commercial Radio Australia.
The Sydney market showed strong growth up 11.11% to $23.006 million, Melbourne was up 4.63% to $21.591 million, Brisbane rose 5.4% to $11.322 million, Perth was up .32% to $10.101 million and Adelaide was down .89%to $6.391 million.

The perception of Radio's competitors in the market place is strong, but it is not accurate, according to Tony Kendall, who launched the Share of Audio study and marketing campaign today at the National Radio Conference.

The first major comprehensive study of Australians’ audio consumption has found that the entry of global players such as Pandora, Spotify and Apple Music have failed to dent Australian radio’s dominance of the audio landscape.

Radio ratings for Sale and Warragul in the Victorian Gippslands and Latrobe Valley have been released. 

In Sale TR FM was a clear winner All People 10+ with 31.3%, followed by ABC Gippsland 17.1% and Gippsland's 1242 with 13.4%.

ACRAs and National Radio Conference tickets on sale

The radio industry’s annual events, the gala Australian Commercial Radio Awards (ACRAs) and the National Radio Conference (NRC) are back in Melbourne this October and tickets go on sale today. 
Commercial radio’s events have grown in stature each year, the fiercely competitive radio industry will put rivalries aside for the staging of the conference on Friday, 7 October and the highlight of the radio industry’s calendar the 28th annual ACRAs on Saturday, 8 October. 

Radio vs Music copyright dispute finally settled

The legal battle between the radio industry and the Phonographic Performance Company of Australia (PPCA) over payments for online broadcast of music has been raging since 2009. 

The long running dispute has finally been settled with radio set to pay slightly more for simultaneous online broadcasts than it currently does for terrestrial.
