ARN's Ciaran Davis has been awarded CEO Magazine's top award, CEO of the Year at the third annual Executive of the Year Awards tonight.

Davis began his role in 2010 and, after three years of growth, the challenge was to deliver a business plan that built on this success. His strategy has "combined the best people, most entertaining talent and bold client solutions to build a strong, contemporary media company," according to the awards judges.

Jonesy and Amanda renew with ARN for 3 more years

Brendan ‘Jonesy’ Jones and Amanda Keller have renewed their contracts with WSFM breakfast for three more years.

Currently in their ninth year on air together, 2014 has been a good year for Jonesy & Amanda, scoring top spot in the FM breakfast rankings for four out of the six surveys.

WSFM's overall ratings also continues to climb after a successful rebrand as part of the new Pure Gold Network.

ARN CEO takes the #IceBucketChallenge, with help from all the staff.

Ciaran Davis took the challenge following his nomination from Nova Entertainment’s Cathy O’Connor.

On air talent from KIIS 1065, WS FM101.7 and The Edge 96.One and almost all the staff in th company's Byfield Street Sydney office were more than willing to help him fulfil this challenge –  even Karl Stefanovic brought along a bucket to join in.

Selina Nisanyan fills the newly created role of Digital Marketing Manager, where she will be tasked with optimizing ARN’s digital marketing campaign activity across display, social, and search platforms, as well as responsibility for end to end brand management of iHeartRadio and initiatives for the Edge.

Amidst the euphoria of a stunning start to the year for its new KIIS brand as well as a resurgent WS-FM, ARN’s top brass may have been forgiven for opting out of last night’s function for their lesser known third brand, The Edge 96.ONE. But no, CEO Ciaran Davis, Network PD, Duncan Campbell were both there along with a bevy of senior execs including Edge and WSFM PD Charlie Fox to lend enthusiastic support to this unique station that serves up hip hop and dance hits to the ethnically diverse youth of the western suburbs of Sydney.

APN buys out Clear Channel's share of ARN

APN News and Media Limited will acquire full ownership of Australian Radio Network and New Zealand's The Radio Network from U.S. joint venture partner Clear Channel Communications for $246.5 million.

The transaction will give APN 100% of "the largest network of radio stations in the trans-Tasman region."

Kiss trademark case continues: legal analysis

Melbourne narrowcast station Kiss is continuing its trade mark infringement action against ARN now that the company has launched KIIS in Sydney.

As revealed last year on radioinfo, the station is taking action under Trade Mark and Passing Off legislation against ARN.

ARN's goal is to have the number 1 and 2 Sydney stations

Kyle told a gathering of clients and media this morning that he expects the new KIIS breakfast show to be number one FM by the end of one or two surveys. Earlier he put a number on what he hopes for in his first survey, 9%.
 
ARN CEO Ciaran Davis is “glad that Kyle has put that target on himself.”
 
Davis says ARN’s corporate strategy for 2014 is to have the number one and number two FM breakfast shows in Sydney by the end of the year.

Ben Gialouris was promoted to Sales Director of Mix 106.5, WSFM and The Edge in Sydney just a couple of weeks before the big announcement that Kyle and Jackie O would be joining the network in 2014. And while the 34 year old is thrilled about the potential numbers they’ll bring to the new KIIS brand, he insists, “We’ve always been about driving results for clients, not ratings.”
