Jam Pakt celebrates 100 episodes and two years on the air

Community radio gave 'granular level' local information during bushfires: Senate Inquiry

Speaking at the Senate Finance and Administration Committee hearing into the bushfires this week, Braidwood FM station manager Gordon Waters praised the work of his station's volunteers and asked for more recognition of the role community radio plays in emergencies.

"For listeners in our area we were the only source of information from the ground," said Waters.

COVID-19 Safe Studio Principles for Australian Radio and Podcast Industry released

The Australian Radio and Podcast Industry Sector Consultation Group has issued a set of COVID-19 Safe Studio Principles to support the broadcast industry to safely produce live and pre-recorded content.
The Guidelines have been developed by AFTRS, in consultation with industry, to provide a resource that can assist with safety while COVID-19 restrictions and containment measures are in place.

The Consumer Coach: Your Pandemic Financial Survival Guide has been produced in partnership with the Ecstra Foundation, and is aimed at equipping Australian consumers with the support, advice, and access to resources they need to make financial decisions during the pandemic.

In the second instalment of this innovative series of releases, the organisations have teamed up their Amrap and indigiTUBE initiatives to deliver more Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander music to Australian community radio.

Along with many Australians, community radio services are currently facing significant challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The severity of the impact of COVID-19 is accelerating pressure on local community radio stations to find ways to deliver key broadcast services efficiently and economically, while transitioning to an entirely or partially remote content-production model.
It is impacting significantly on broadcasting resources, staffing and volunteers, and revenue sources in sponsorship, donations and fundraising.
