Last week came the announcement that the CRA and would be joining the BBC and NAB to put radio front and centre in car audio with DTS Connected Radio.
 
All in Media (AIM), part of the Xperi family, will assist in the development and radioinfo was able to ask AIM’s Senior Digital Producer, Richard Phelps, for his views on the development and on where the current state of play sits.

2018 Community Radio Awards: Full Winners List

The 2018 CBAA Community Radio Awards were presented last night on the Gold Coast at the conclusion of the community broadcasting sector's annual conference.

This year, the CBAA introduced a number of new awards to its annual event, and presented 34 awards across 33 categories. The winners were diverse, and were a representation of the make-up of the sector, with recipients from a large variety of locations, sizes and communities.

Community Radio is more important than ever #CBAAConf

Director at Media Diversity Australia, Antoinette Lattouf, addressed the CBAA conference on the importance of Media Diversity, especially within news and current affairs programs.
 
She says the general population isn’t properly reflected within the media and that the role of Community Broadcasters is now more important than every before.
 
Antoinette spoke to radioinfo about why diversity is so important.

The CBAA has told radioinfo it is aware that the ACMA has contacted a number of stations around Australia regarding their representation of their station’s sponsorship opportunities as advertising.

Following recent amendments to the Broadcasting Services Act, a number of community stations in four states have received letters from the ACMA alleging “several complaints” about their services, and stating that while no formal investigation will take place, the station should consider matters raised.
