6PR breaches complaints-handling codes

Radio 6PR Perth Pty Ltd, the licensee of 6PR in Perth, has breached the complaints-handling obligations of the Commercial Radio Codes of Practice and Guidelines 2013 (the code).

The Australian Communications and Media Authority's investigation concerned two complaints by a 6PR listener about a 14 September 2016 broadcast that aired on 6PR Mornings. The complaints were sent via fax to 6PR and later via 6PR's website online complaint form. No response was provided by the licensee.

His current portfolio includes the country's top talk stations such as 3AW2GB6PR & 5AA.

These stations sit alongside a long list of smaller capital cities and regional stations. It also includes the Kyle and Jackie O Show as well as radio stations in New Zealand.  

His career began as an office boy at 3UZ in Melbourne 35 years ago.

Changes to sales representation agreement for 96FM and 6PR

Australian Radio Network and Macquarie Media have made changes to the sales representation agreement for their respective radio stations 96FM (ARN) and 6PR (MML).

For the past two years, ARN has represented both 96FM and 6PR in the Perth market, across both direct and agency sales.

Sources to radioinfo suggest changes have been made to the 6PR newsroom for 2017.

It's suggested from mid-January 6PR will no longer produce and present bulletins for 96FM, resulting in the loss of three jobs.

According to sources, afternoon reade Andrew Glencross is one of the casualties along with the long-serving Lance White.

radioinfo has contacted the station for clarification.

Following last year’s merger of Fairfax Radio with Macquarie Radio, Macquarie Media has posted a 9% fall in half year revenue to $66.83 million.

This is the first full six month period of the combined groups since the merger came into effect on April 1st 2015.

Listener, John of Secret Harbour was the winner of over $104,000 worth of brand new Toyota motor vehicles on 6PR last week.

Fifty-eight Toyota Rumour File contributors made it into the final draw conducted at a live broadcast from the TOYOTA WA head office in Kewdale during the final Steve and Baz breakfast show for the year.

John won the brand new Toyota Camry Atara SX Sedan, plus the exciting new Toyota Fortuner GXL seven seater SUV.
