2SER's The History Lab is shortlisted for the NSW Premier's History Awards

The History Lab podcast made by Impact Studios at the University of Technology Sydney, with media partner 2SER, has been shortlisted as a finalist in this year's Digital History Prize for the NSW Premier’s History Awards.

The podcast is the brainchild of historian and host Associate Professor Tamson Pietsch, who in 2018 pitched to co-creator and Executive Producer Emma Lancaster the idea of "an audio experiment where we ‘do’ history for your ears”.

2SER reaches its antenna fundraising target

Sydney community radio station 2SER FM has reached its antenna fundraising campaign target of $30,000 in just over two weeks.  

A 'SAVE OUR SIGNAL' fundraising campaign was launched to replace its FM antenna after a lightning strike caused severe damage, seriously disrupting the station's ability to continue to broadcast.

Alex James is the new host of 2SER 107.3 FM breakfast.

Alex comes to the role after filling in for Tess Connery, who has now left for a role in digital media.

Alex’s first radio role was on air at the station after studying at Macquarie University.

Last year, while host of The Daily, Alex presented a special program celebrating 40 years of 2SER.

She brings to breakfast a sporting passion and interest in issues such as environmental sustainability and inclusion and diversity.

Community radio's award winning current affairs program is back for season 16

The Wire is a collaborative production model led by Sydney's 2ser 107.3, Radio Adelaide, and Brisbane's 4EB, and supported by other stations during the year.

The station has been a space for learning and innovation all throughout its existence and has pioneered dozens of music shows, award-winning documentaries, Sydney's first queer radio program Gaywaves, and prison program Jailbreak

2ser is getting nostalgic for its 40th birthday

2ser is inviting anyone with station-related memorabilia to join them at Studios 301 for an afternoon of nostalgia as they work to fill gaps in the stations historical archive.
The station is looking for old 2ser audio tapes, photos and documents so that will help create a comprehensive history of the stations last 40 years of broadcast.
Items will be assessed by staff with the aim of digitising as much material as possible and original owners will receive a digital copy of their item free of charge.
