Alan Jones, Australia’s most successful radio broadcaster, is now speaking directly to Canberra listeners every weekday, with 2CC broadcasting his program live.
 
2CC’s program schedule now features The Alan Jones Breakfast Show, The Ray Hadley Morning Show, and the brand new Steve Price Show (12pm-3pm).

John Brennan criticises 2GB for dropping Chris Smith

Australian Radio Hall of Fame inductee, John Brennan, who implemented Sydney's most successful talk radio format has criticised the removal of radio star Chris Smith from 2GB.
 
Brennan told 7 News that Smith “…should remain on Afternoons. He’s an entertaining and stimulating and provocative intelligent talk host.
 

Chris Smith leaves 2GB

Chris Smith and 2GB have come to an agreement on the future of the presenter with him to leave at the end of July.

Following a week of turmoil surrounding his position at the station during which he engaged lawyers to act on his behalf, the two parties have finally come to an agreement.

After 18 years and over 60 number 1 surveys in his time slot, it is understood that Smith was asked to vacate his afternoon shift in a straight swap with Steve Price that would have put him into nights.

"I won't be returning to radio, I'm contracted to SkyNews," Derryn HInch has told radioinfo in an online discussion that began when he commented on shift change rumours at 2GB/3AW.
 


As Hinch finishes his term in Canberra, his focus has now returned to media, after he performed one last duty as a Senator.
