mcm entertainment has appointed Greg Tremain as group sales and marketing manager. He will be based in Sydney. Greg was with Austereo for five years and previously worked at DDB on the MCDonald's account.

Justin Drexall has left the Hot30 at FM104.7 in Canberra and has moved back to the Sunshine Coast to focus on his graphic design business.

John "JB" Bain has been appointed as the APD at Hot 100 in Darwin. He will continue in his current positions of brekky announcer/MD. Meanwhile, at sister station, MIX 1049, Ryan Khay has been appointed as the APD and will also continue as the drive announcer/MD.

Hayden Else is the first staffer to be announced for DMG's new station, Nova 919 Adelaide.

Star 1045 on the NSW Central Coast has a new sports show, 'Loose Heads', from 8-10am on Saturday mornings with Darrell Eastlake and Michelle Keighran. Eastlake will continue his regular breakfast spot, Monday-Friday.

Gary Pert has been appointed general manager of Austereo's Melbourne stations, Fox FM and Triple M. Pert was previously national sales director and has been with the network over 10 years. The previous GM, Martin Jones has taken a change management position and will focus on Austereo's strategic and operational development.

Former ABC radio and tv chief, David Hill, has been appointed Executive Director of Television Sydney (TVS) and will oversee the launch of the new community station on UHF Channel 31. He was ABC Chairman and Managing Director from 1986-'95.

Malcolm Lees and co-host, Mardi Cole, are back on breakfast at Sydney's C91.3 Campbelltown station. Lees has taken on the additional role of Program Director. Their return follows the departure of station manager, Phil Giblin.

Following his departure from 2UE earlier this year, Sydney radio legend, Gary O'Callaghan, returns to the airwaves when he joins his son and 2MC-FM News Director, Nick O’Callaghan, for “Sunday along the holiday coast” - a weekly magazine style program that focuses on local news, issues and interviews, as well as inviting callers to have their say between 7 and 9am. Sammy Sparrow is also expected to make flying visits. The five decade radio veteran starts his 2MC gig on Sunday 2 July.

Dave Andrews returns to River949 as Music Director after spending eighteen months at Australian Traffic Network doing traffic on 4BC. He left Sea FM in 1996 and Triple M in 2002 before going to River949 the first time.. Recently installed General Manager, David Greenwood (see radioinfo story of 24 June), says Andrews' re-appointment and that of highly respected Brisbane Radio Account Manager, Denis Cherry, as Sales Manager, are strategic to complement 949’s repositioning (35-45) to reflect the enormous growth in south east Queensland. Former River Sales Manager, John Coban, has moved to the newly created position of Special Projects Manager, handling specific media related events for River949 and other Network stations.

Former Mix 101.1 Program Director, Dean Pickering, has revealed his plans after radio – he is joining Victoria Police! He started the (lengthy) entry process early this year and, with exams, medicals and physicals behind him, he is likely to be wearing blue later in the year.

Symone ' Symmo' Wilson will not be returning to Darwin's HOT100 FM after her maternity leave. Her husband has been re-located to Melbourne beginning August 9.
After 2 years as brekky host and promotions manager she's a touch sad but hopeful that Melbourne will provide her with some adventure!

From next weekend, 'Jazztrack on ABC Classic FM will be presented by Mal Stanley at 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays. This follows the retirement of Jim McLeod, after 48 years with the ABC - the Corporation's longest serving presenter.

2EC’s Batemans Bay based morning man Ian Duff, has resigned to pursue a career in retailing. Duffy has been in Radio for 30 years, 21 of which have been spent at 2EC doing mornings and news reading. His departure made the front page of the local paper, where Ian said it was “time for a change”. 2EC management and staff were very sad to see Ian go and listeners have been calling all week expressing their sorrow. Ian’s replacement is Mark Vaile, formerly of the ABC in Bega.

Chris Thomas is leaving Power FM Adelaide Hills to join The Heat 96.1FM Noosa takes over as Breakfast Announcer from Dave Daly who is leaving to persue other business interests.
Dean McLachlan (ex DMG Hub Townsville) becomes Commercial Producer,replacing Troy"Cheeksy" McInnes who moves to Newcastle to concentrate on promotions in the Hospitality industry (and setup his own production business).

Some reshuffling at 8HA/SUN FM Alice Springs...8HA's prodigal daughter Christine Kingate returns to do 2-6pm afternoons. On SUN FM, it was inevitable... Jeremy Ryan (JR) has finally teamed with Neil 'Wilko' Wilcock for their new and ever-funny breakfast show 'The Morning After'.

Kurt Fulepp returns to 2UE's Promotions and Marketing Department on Monday 21 June. He was previously with 2UE for five years, before doing a stint with MacSween Communications as an account manager.
