774 ABC Melbourne has appointed Richard Stubbs as its new afternoon host - in a shortened 1-3pm shift - replacing Lynne Haultain, who left just before Christmas to spend more time with family.

Craig ‘Lowie’ Low will take over the Hot 30 Countdown from Higgo and Alexis from next week. Higgo is moving to Fox Fm Melbourne as afternoon presenter and Alexis is moving back to Austereo Adelaide.

Mick Molloy's 'Tough Love' program, 10am-noon on Triple M, has been cut to an hour and will start at midday from next Monday. Robyn Butler will return as co-host, but Alan Brough has left to work on a new ABC tv program.

Movement of an international kind: 702 ABC Sydney's top rating drive presenter, Richard Glover, has done a little co-hosting (while on holidays!) on KGO radio in San Francisco.

Alan Jones and John Laws will go head to head for the first time, with 2GB extending Jones' breakfast program by an hour to 10am. Effective from Monday 24 January, all other 2GB presenters will shift back an hour: Ray Hadley to 10am-1pm; Chris Smith to 1-4pm; and Philip Clark to 4-7pm. The changes mean Hadley will continue to lead the weekend 'Continuous Call' league team.

Some movements at mrWorks Southern Hub in Albury... casual copy goddess, Svea Kemp, has joined the Network's Creative Commune after two enlightening years with Who Marketing in Melbourne. Susannah Woodward has also answered her calling, joining Albury's Creative Conga line after 18 months at 3YB Warrnambool.

The reason for this Genesis in Albury ... is the exodus of Senior Writer Rohan Varlamos to 3AW after 2 years together with Creative Writer Kim Mannaa, who has found on-air-promo-creative Nirvana at 93.5 StarFM Dubbo.

Brenden Wood has been appointed Executive Breakfast Producer for both 4KQ and 97.3 FM Brisbane commencing on January 31. Brenden will work on both breakfast teams particularly with current Breakfast Producer Kylie Hay on 97 3 and Breakfast Producer/on-air personality Gary Clare. Brenden has previously worked on both Talk Radio 4BC and Austereo's B105 as Breakfast Producer

We've had good news from David Day. He had a kidney transplant two days after Christmas and he's feeling fantastic after two year of dialysis. He sends his thanks to all who sent kind wishes over the years and says that it was much appreciated.

Mix 104.9 afternoons announcer, Sian Gard is heading west to ABC Local in Karratha, WADante St James, former Creative Director at Hot 100/Mix 104.9, and Hot 100 Darwin weekends announcer now moves to Hot 100 Breakfast with Veronica Howson, the new duo to be known as, "Ronnie and The Saint".

Ian Holland is 2CH's new Program Director, after Peter Burgham's reported sacking. Steve Murphy will take over afternoons (12-4), George Ilich will do drive (4-8), Holland will do nights 8-9 and 10pm-midnight, Murphy will continue to present the 'Nine O'Clock Special', and Saturday and Sunday breakfast will be handled by Gareth McCray.
