Brian Blacklock has been appointed to the newly created position of Director of Sales at ARN Sydney. Blacklock will be responsible for all retail and agency revenue for the two key Sydney stations: WSFM, Mix 106.5 and the Western Sydney station The Edge 96.ONE.

GM John Williams says Blacklock had been part of the network’s national sales team for the past five years, contributing to the outstanding success of the team in attracting and retaining a growing share of national advertising revenue.
“Having worked with Brian in the past, it will be great to have him back as part of the Sydney operation.”

In other movements, ARN has also announced the appointment of Andrew Stefanou to the position of Agency Sales Manager in Melbourne. He was previously Director of Sales Retail at ARN Sydney and also worked as a National Sales Director for New Zealand television, will be in charge of agency sales for the two Melbourne ARN stations, GOLD FM and Mix 101.1.

Gavin Flanagan, Program Director 2TM, has been promoted to General Manager of 2TM and FM92.9 in Tamworth.

Veteran Program Director, Leo Nelson, has been appointed General Manager of 6IX, Perth where he had been PD for the past eight years. Prior to that, Leo had been PD of 6PM for 14 years. MD of Radio Perth P/L, Kevin Blyton said, "His appointment is consistent with our policy of, where possible, promoting from within the organisation".

Sarah Coates has joined the Sunshine Coast's top stations MIX FM and SEA FM as their News Editor. Sarah has come from 4AK in Toowoomba and replaces Scott Mayman who has left to join the Public Service.

In other MRR Sunshine Coast news Rick Chapman “Chappy” has joined the SEA FM Morning Crew as their Rock N Roll Chicken.

MR Works Group PD for Tasmania and PD for Magic and Sea FM Stephen Bugg will move into the role of Music Director for Sea FM in Hobart, replacing David McClung who has moved to the Gold Coast as SEA FM Music Director.

Chris Ivers will be joining the Tasmanian Radio Network from May 8 as Group PD for the state, and will also be responsible for the Charles Wooley Across Australia program.

Ian Mannix relinquishes his position as Manager ABC774 Melbourne to take up a new role in Adelaide as Manager of Emergency Services and Community Development. Program Director Steve Kyte will take up the role of acting manager until the position is advertised in the next couple of weeks.

Mathew McHugh has recently been promoted to afternoons announcer at Star 1045 on the Central Coast market. Previously he worked as station floater and production assistant. Prior to that he was at 2GGG Gunnedah as breaky announcer.

Damien Fisher has commenced as sales manager with 2GZ fm /Star FM Orange. Damien spent 4 years as network general manager for the Smart Radio Network - operators of 4VL and Triple Cfm Charleville and also Hot Country Network.

The Copywriter/Announcer position at 2ST has been filled by Andrew Pye who came from the Australian Traffic Network and 2CC Canberra. 2ST's former writer Lucy Campbell left last week for an extended stay in the United Kingdom where she is hoping to try her luck in London radio.

Former Radio 2 Head Panel Operator Duncan McCrea is moving to Canberra to join 2CC / 2CA as a Panel Operator. Duncan will also provide voice overs and other duties for the two stations.
