Patrick Joyce has been appointed General Manager Operations of Austereo. Helen Davies will fill Joyce’s current role as Sydney General Manager, while Lisa Davison will replace her as National Promotions Director.

Benjamin Shuhyta is Macquarie Regional RadioWorks' new newsreader, taking over at the Wagga/Young desk from Sandra Firth, who retired last month. Benjamin comes to Wagga from Bourke, where he worked for 2CUZ and 2WEB. He says the first difference he noticed was the movie theatre.

Kelly Wintle has been appointed as Sales Manager for C91.3FM, after a short stint in the Promotions Department, with the recent departure of Stephen Baragry - Stephen is leaving to join Mix FM - and Alan Carrington from the sales team is also off to WSFM; (another successful career development by C91.3FM!)

Returning from a short absence is Alison 'Greedy' Brewster to take over from Alan; and Ashley Hughes is joining the sales team as
well - moving up from Eagle FM. Lyndal Rogers has taken over the role of Promotions Manager.

John Piva will finish up as breakfast announcer at StarFm Port Macquarie on Friday 26th August and is heading back home to the Sunshine Coast with his family.

Former Star FM Port Macquarie breakfast host, John Bain has joined the MAX FM crew in Taree and will host the 10am - 2pm shift. John was more recently with SEN Melbourne and replaces Chris Broad who went to MIX FM in Darwin.

Sandy McCutcheon will present Life Matters temporarily, beginning next Monday, following the departure of Julie McCrossin to ABC702. Paul Barclay will host Australia Talks Back in McCutcheon's absence.

Virginia Trioli will finish on ABC774 Melbourne tomorrow and will take some time off before beginning in the morning slot at ABC702 Sydney. Trioli's shift is being filled by Tracey Curro temporarily, while the station seeks a permanent replacement.

Chris Smith's afternoon producer, Brian Carlton, has quit 2GB to dust off his alter ego, The Spoonman, and return after four years to Triple M nights with his own brand of chat. The program, which starts August 29, will be networked from Sydney to Melbourne and Brisbane.

Virginia Lette and Troy Wade have left Canberra's 104.7 and the local Hot 30. Virginia has moved to Brisbane to take up a position as Producer/Announcer at Nova Brisbane and Troy has decided to continue his university studies to become a primary school teacher.

Nova Brisbane has taken another Hot Tomato staff member. Brendon Boss moves from Afternoons on the Gold Coast to Floater in Brisbane early September - Bossy is the fourth Hot Tomato staff member to join Brisbane since launch.

In other Hot Tomato movements, afternoon presenter Jo Donohue has moved to mornings.

Sydney news stringer Tim Stackpool will again be covering the Peter Falconio murder trial in Darwin for networks in the UK, when it eventually gets
underway. In the meantime, Tim has been cast in a new Dr Who audio drama
series being produced in the US, Terror of the Artic. He will play ship's
surgeon John Peddie aboard the HMS Terror in the 1840's.
