S-E-N Management Team for 3AK announced

The Sports Entertainment Network, new lessors of 3AK, today unveiled its management line up while announcing that S-E-N 1116AM will now begin broadcasting in “early 2004”. Earlier announcements had the new sports/talk format beginning from January 1.

As the old 3AK format winds down, 3AK program manager Denis O’Kane will become general manager of sister station 3MP. The station’s newsroom closed last week and news is now being supplied by Southern Cross.

Presenters Phil Cleary, Bernie Finn, Sam Kekovich and Greg Evans are all now out of contract. Annette Allison, Brett De Hoedt and others still in contract will hold the fort on air until the new management takes over and decides whether the have a role to play or not.

In a press release, S-E-N’s Managing Director, Danny Staffieri, said “I am thrilled by the calibre of the team we have secured. All senior staff have been involved in very successful start-up operations and each one of them is passionate about sports radio.”
