Pablo Miller is running 5K a day for another year

On March 31st 2020 Triple M Karratha breakfast radio announcer Pablo Miller went for a 5km run and he hasn’t stopped.

Pablo says, “When COVID-19 hit and the gyms shut I knew I needed something to keep me active but more importantly also clear my head with all the uncertainty going on. So, I started running and fell in love with it.”

While not having a running background, Pablo found the daily routine a great way to calm his mind and get fit, “I’m not a runner and if you had of said last year, I would have clocked up nearly 2,000KM I’d have laughed you out of the room. But the support and encouragement from all the Triple M listeners has been overwhelming and kept me going day after day.”

Next Thursday Pablo will have completed 365 consecutive days of 5km runs. But he is not stopping, and he says, “Last year was for me but for the next 365 days it is for kids born with a genetic condition.”

Pablo’s daughter Charlotte was born with a rare genetic condition that meant many hospital check-ups and sleepless nights worrying.

He says, “Thankfully after 4 years her condition is on the minor side but there are plenty of kids who’s aren’t. I’m running for them and their parents.”

So, for the next 365 days Pablo will continue running 5km everyday to raise money to benefit Children’s Medical Research Institute.

His target is to raise $5K for 5km for the next 365 consecutive days.
