XM Satellite Radio in US increases subscribers but faces money troubles

US Digital Sallite broadcster XM has announced an increase in subscribers, but that is unlikely to save the company from a short term cash crisis in the near future.

XM has a total of 201,500 subscribers, an increase of 65,000 in the last three months of 2002.

Despite the subscriber growth, a report by bankers Credit Suisse estimates that the company needs to raise $360 million to fund its operating costs in 2003.
