2MCR’s Matthew Fulton has written in response to Mike Summers comments reminding readers of his own world record DJ attempt some years ago.

Fulton says: “In response to Mike Summers comment about my attempt for the Longest Radio DJ Marathon, I had contacted Guinness several times in regards to the record, and they always told me that it has been 102 hours, 3 minutes, and 22 seconds. Never at all did they inform me about Mike’s attempt back in 1986/87.

If Mike’s attempt is correct, they would always print it in every issue unless someone else breaks it. But one other thought, Mike’s record could have been a different record. I respect Mike, but I am still sticking by Guinness’s official word. Best wishes to anyone else trying to do it… it hurts!” Regards, Matthew Fulton.
