Wollongong Survey released

Wollongong Survey 1 has been released with Wave FM increasing its first place margin slightly further. Wave was up 0.4 to 22.0%.

Second placed i98 dipped 0.7 to 19.9% and local ABC station FM97.3 had an increase of 0.4 to 12.5%.

i98 won the the youth demographics aged 10-39, going up in 10-17s and 18-24s, but dropping a little in 25-39s. Wave FM won the 40-54 demographic (32.1), while ABC 97.3 won the 55+ demo (21.9), just ahead of Wave (21.5).

Nowra station Power FM scored 3.5%, down 1.6 on last survey. Other AM was 1.3% and other FM was 4.6%.

Sydney stations are also heard in the market – Triple J and Triple M were the highest of those stations, reflecting an unmet audience demand for alternative/rock than is provided by local stations. Triple J scored 5.7% (up 0.1) and Triple M was 5.5% (up 1.2).

Wave won the breakfast timeslot (23.3) with i98 second (20.0) and ABC 97.3 third (14.1). Mornings was won by Wave (24.2) with i98 second (22.4). i98 came first in afternoons (22.1) and drive (21.1) with Wave close behind in afternoons (22.0) but further back at drive (17.9). Evenings was closely contested with i98 on 18.7 and Wave on 18.5, while Wave won weekends (21.6) ahead of i98 (16.2) and ABC 97.3 (14.0).

Other stations scored: 2GB 3.5% (down 1.7), 2UE 1.8 (down 1.1), 2CH 3.5 (up 1.6), WS FM 2.4% (up 1.0), 2DAY 1.2% (down 0.8), Nova 1.0% (down 0.9), ABC702 (3.9 (up 0.4), Radio National 3.6 (up 1.7), Classic FM 1.4% (down 0.6).
