Williscroft leaving Austereo to join DMG Brisbane as PD

2DAY FM’s Adam Williscroft this week left Austereo for DMG, announcing he will take on the role as Nova 106 PD in Brisbane.

An internal memo from Austereo’s David Rymer says:

“Adam Williscroft has resigned from 2DAY FM to become the PD of the new
DMG station in Brisbane.

This brings to an end 5 years of strong contribution to 2DAY FM. During
his time, Adam has been the morning announcer, an APD, Music
Director and worked on the HOT 30.

We will miss Adam’s presence and great skill set here at 2DAY FM. He has
however made a significant choice to re-invent himself in a completely
new environment. I know many of you will watch with interest his
progress in what will be a very competitive environment in Brisbane.

I want to take this opportunity to thank BIG WILLY for his contribution
to 2 DAY FM programming. And I want to wish Willy, his wife Kylee and
Saskia all the best as they take the big leap to “Bris-Vegas”

Willy’s last day will be Friday the 25th of June.

Rymer is right in saying Brisbane will be “a very competitive environment.”

New97.3 has already shaken up Austereo’s B105, which has dominated the market for years, and a new Nova format will also weaken B105’s hold on the young demographics further. This will create instability at the top of the market and open doors for other players to nibble away at B105’s lead and perhaps topple it from its number one position.
