Will & Woody make life-changing sushi discovery

ARN’s National KIIS FM Drive hosts, Will & Woody, have launched their very own Sushi Sushi hand roll which will be sold in stores around Australia until mid-April.

Named the Will & Woody ‘Wok n’ Woll’, the hand roll will feature in 135 Sushi Sushi stores, and a pop-up store in Sydney’s Circular Quay from 12pm – 2pm today.

The idea was sparked after Drive host Will McMahon discovered a convenient sushi hack which promised to change the lives of sushi lovers forever.

Listeners, along with co-host Woody Whitelaw, were enlightened by Will’s genius, which proved there was a new use for the little soy sauce fish container that involved using the fish tail to scoop wasabi onto the top of a sushi hand roll.

Determined to help the people of Australia better enjoy their sushi, Will & Woody got in touch with the sushi chain live on air to share the news.

Commended for their passion for sushi, the Drive co-hosts were thrown a challenge by Sushi Sushi to see if they could create the best sushi hand roll ever.

In less than three weeks the pair undertook numerous product tests to create what they believe is the most unique flavoured sushi hand roll on the market, and are ready to release their invention to the public.

Their invention consists of a crunchy vegetable spring roll wrapped with lettuce, cucumber, koshihikari rice, sweet chilli sauce, whole egg mayonnaise and encased in nori.

Woody Whitelaw said: “The opportunity to create the ‘Wok n’ Woll’ with Sushi Sushi is really a dream come true. Plenty of blood, sweat and soy sauce have gone into creating the deliciousness of a spring roll wrapped in a casing of sweet chilli sauce, mayo, lettuce and cucumber. It’s a party in your mouth.”

Will McMahon added: “After showing Sushi Sushi that the tail of a soy sauce fish is a spatula for wasabi, they were indebted to us.
“After vigorous negotiation (where they probably came off second best), we now have our own roll. Let the wasabi tail wiping begin.”

Supported by an on air campaign, Will & Woody will document their journey to creating the ultimate hand roll across social media and will also feature in Sushi Sushi store posters.

Nikki Price, Sushi Sushi’s Head of Marketing said: “We have had a lot of fun partnering with KIIS FM’s Will & Woody with this unique flavour and we are excited to be leading the way with product innovation on a national scale.”

For $2.80 consumers can purchase the Wok n’ Woll at participating Sushi Sushi stores until Tuesday 17 April.
