When rock is female, it only gets better: Jane Gazzo

Jane Gazzo returns from the UK to host Mornings on Triple M, Melbourne.

She’s been in the business for a quarter of a century, been nominated for an Astra Award, did radio in London with Ricky Gervais and Russell Brand, presented TV on the BBC, ITV and MTV UK. She has even been Courtney Love’s personal assistant.  Now Jane Gazzo, television presenter, music journo and radio broadcaster joins Triple M Melbourne as their new morning presenter.

Melbourne girl Jane began her impressive broadcasting career at the age of 16 with a stint at 3RRR and then went on to present nationally on Triple J and the ABC TV cult TV show Recovery.

Her big break came in 1999 when she tried her luck in London, landing a radio gig at X-FM where she worked with Gervais and Brand.  She went on later to work at both the BBC and Capital FM while also hosting various TV Shows.

In 2007 she returned home to Australia and took on the role of full time music presenter on Foxtel’s Channel [V], later moving to the MAX Music channel.

Head of Triple M, Mike Fitzpatrick has said: “I’m excited to have Jane join Triple M.  She’s a passionate music fan, a passionate Melburnian and a passionate Bloods supporter. Two out of three I guess. Needless to say, given she’s joining Triple M, Jane will probably have to be called Gazza on air.”

Jane Gazzo says, “I am extremely excited to be joining Melbourne’s Triple M and can’t wait to get to work! People who know me, know how much I love my music and to be back on the radio in my home town on the home of modern rock and killer classics is just mind blowing. The bloke who signed Oasis once said to me, ‘When rock is female, it only gets better’ – I hope Melbourne is ready!”

Jane starts the morning shift on Triple M from April 7.
