What’s prompted Ray to consider easing back on the work hours?

Perhaps Australia’s hardest working workaholic, 2GB’s Ray Hadley, is thinking of taking weekends off.

The 61-year-old has not only been doing a top rating Morning talk shift Monday to Friday but has headed up the Continuous Call Team on Saturdays and Sundays too for the past 30 years.

“I can’t do this forever”, Hadley told the paper.

“It’s probably time for a generational change and young blokes at the station deserve the chance to take charge”, he said.

He told the Sunday Telegraph pulling back would allow him to concentrate fully on his morning show.

“My full time job these days is my morning show and it’s a very demanding program that takes up most of my time”.

Hadley says the passing of his friend Peter Frilingos motivated his thinking to pull back.

The sports journalist and commentator, best known for his work as a rugby league writer died from a heart attack aged 59 in 2004.
