What was the hottest year of the decade for triple j listeners?

After crunching the numbers, triple j can reveal that 2012 was the hottest year of the decade for listeners.
 
That means that songs from 2012 will pop up in the Hottest Songs of the Decade countdowns more than songs from any other year.
 
Here’s who the 1,869,659 votes came from: 

  •  47.9% of votes were from people aged between 18-24
  • 79.1% of votes from people aged 30 and under
  • 51.2% of votes came from females
  • 46.9% of votes came from males
  • 1.9% of votes came from people who identified as non-binary, unspecified or other
