Variety Queensland plays Santa and helps the 4BH/QR toy appeal

The 4BH/QR Toy Appeal for the St Vincent de Paul Society has received a massive boost with Variety Queensland donating a huge 5,000 toys, doubling the count so far.

After hearing the appeal had only reached quarter of its target, Variety Queensland contacted 4BH 882 and offered their generous support which will ensure Vinnies has enough Christmas gifts for distribution to disadvantaged tots to teens throughout the state.

As he was helping Vinnies volunteers fill their truck with toys Trevor Verrall , Variety’s Appeals Coordinator, told radioinfo “Variety aims to raise as many funds as possible for sick, disabled and disadvantaged children and provide them with assistance to help improve their lives. Our goals are similar to Vinnies’ so we’re glad we can help this Christmas.”

John Campbell, Vice President, St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland, said: “We are so thankful to Variety for making this massive donation just in the nick of time. We were having problems filling our orders but now we’ll be fine.”

Toys will be distributed by local Vinnies volunteers throughout Queensland before Christmas.
