Former 2UE/2KO salesman and broadcaster Jack Gleeson has passed away.
Jack’s friend Chris Maitland posted details of his passing, saying:
It is with sadness that I report the passing at RPA Hospital on Tuesday 30th May of an old 2UE colleague, Jack Gleeson, who represented 2KO Newcastle in advertising sales to Sydney advertising agencies.
2UE & 2KO being co-owned by the Lamb family, Jack sold 2KO out of the 2UE building in North Sydney from the sixties until 1978.
In addition, he was race-caller Des Hoysted’s gopher for 2UE’s coverage of Sydney horse race meetings and for Graham McNiece, Ray Hadley & others at Friday Night Trots well into the 1980’s.
Jack was 85.
