Comedian and writer Calvin DeGrey passed away at his home in Murrurundi in the Hunter Valley last Sunday morning at 1.15am from the effects of cancer.

Calvin was born and bred on the stage following in the footsteps of his father, the well-known actor and comedian Slim DeGrey.

His true love was standup comedy and for the last 20 years he worked regularly on the Australian comedy circuit. He was one of the first comedians to sign up in 1996 to be part of the award winning nationally syndicated Home Grown Humour.
