Triton Digital’s Webcast Metrics for March

Triton Digital has released the Webcast Metrics Monthly Ranker for March.

Compared to February’s ranker there are very few changes in the top 20 Global publishers with iHeartRadio still on top with 439,014 Average Active Sessions, 176,561,307 Session Starts and Average Time Spent Listening of 0.75 hours.

NPR Member stations had the biggest gains in March with their AAS 125,351 up from 108,447, while Session Starts rose from 33,524,300 to 49,172,970, though their ATSL slipped a little in the same period.

This likely points to a bigger appetite for news in the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis

The rankings are computed on the basis of Average Active Sessions (AAS), with Session Starts (SS), and Average Time Spent Listening (ATSL) also displayed.

The AAS represents the average number of sessions at any point in time in the reported time period, with invalid sessions omitted, and can be calculated by dividing Total Listening Hours by the number of hours within the reported time period (AAS = TLH / Hours in period).

TLH is defined as the total number of hours that the station/publisher has streamed during sessions with a duration of at least one minute in length within the reported time period. Any/all invalid sessions are omitted.

Session Starts is defined as the number of sessions with a minimum duration of one minute in length that were started within the reported time period.

ATSL is defined as the average number of hours for each session with a duration of at least one minute in total within the reported time period. Calculated as total time spent listening divided by active sessions.
