Triple M’s Millionaire listeners get close to the big money

Adelaide’s Triple M Millionaire Listener Ben came agonisingly close to taking home a million dollars this morning, and for a moment had it in his hand until he settled for Queen over Paul McCartney.

Ben Tate from Sheidow Park was the lucky listener to be chosen and given the chance to win a million dollars, arriving at the Triple M studios to a red carpet welcome, where he had to choose one album out of 100 that contained a million dollar cheque – with the rest of the albums containing $10,000.

After careful deliberation, Ben chose album number 57 – the iconic Queen album ‘A Night At The Opera.

The album contained $10,000  and while Ben was rapt and will spend on a new car for myself, the million dollars was agonisingly close by to Ben’s pick, in fact it lay right next to it in album number 58, Paul McCartney’s ‘Band on the Run’.

In fact, Ben had half pulled that album off the wall before changing his mind and selecting Queen!

The million dollars was agonisingly close by to Tim’s pick, in fact it lay right next to it in album number 52, Bob Dylan’s ‘Highway 61’.
Not only will Tim take home $10,000, he will also enjoy a week at Crown with his wife, and a night at the Melbourne Comedy Festival to see Wil Anderson perform.
