triple j nominated for best station in the world

In its 40th year, triple j has been nominated for Best Radio Station in the International Music Industry Awards

The awards are in their second year and “recognise the vision, inspiration and ingenuity of executives and companies from the A&R, publishing, management, live, radio, music supervision, digital and brand arenas”

Interestingly, half of the nominees are public broadcasters, with triple j up against BBC Radio 1, Holland’s 3FM and US station SiriusXM.

triple j Manager Chris Scaddan told The Music Network. “We’re really proud to be nominated as one of the best radio stations in the world,”

“We’re currently celebrating 40 years as a network and reflecting on our humble beginnings as Double J in the 70s, so to be recognised internationally for our contribution to the music community around the world is extremely rewarding.”
