Triple J axes state staff

Triple J will axe several of its state broadcaster positions as it reviews budgets and operations for 2004.

Presenter/producer positions in at least three of the smaller states are expected to be chopped, bringing programming back to the bigger cities and decreasing the geographic spread of programming output.

One staff member in Perth has already been made redundant, and two other positions, one in Canberra and one in Adelaide are also expected to be targeted. Staff in the axed positions are expected to be offered redeployment or redundancy.
